Hi, I’m Sam!

A birth and postpartum doula, devoted to supporting and nourishing birthing people and families through pregnancy, birth, and the months that follow.

How a parent is cared for in this window echoes for years to come. When we nurture new parents well — through every chapter of the journey, from conception through postpartum, across all paths to parenthood — we weave threads of love and regulation into the very beginning of a whole new life.

I believe a person who feels truly listened to, prepared, and supported shows up to birth with confidence and trust in themselves. That same devotion carries into the fourth trimester. Families deserve to feel seen, advocated for, and nourished as they step into parenthood, not just surviving the early days but emerging from them balanced and full of vitality.

My approach is rooted in training as an Ayurvedic Postpartum Doula. Ayurveda — the "Mother of all Healing" — leans on prevention, herbal allies, food as medicine, and warm oil massage to nourish body and spirit. I blend these timeless teachings with modern birth wisdom, offering practical household support, education, and trusted resources so you're not just getting by — you're resourced, well-fed, well-rested, and well-loved.

My Path to This Work

I love the intimacy of this work. The major thresholds of birth and postpartum can be joyful, messy, vulnerable, hilarious, overwhelming, and life-changing — often all at once. I love that this work asks me to be both an expert and a friend. Being invited in as a steady witness during these moments is one of the greatest honors of my life.

Long before I became a doula, I was on my own healing journey (and still am!). Living with severe menstrual pain led me to study Ayurvedic womb care, where I discovered the power of nourishing food, herbal allies, warm oil massage, syncing with nature, and trusting my own intuition. That experience changed the way I relate to my body — and it still shapes the way I care for families today.

Not long after, a dear friend invited me to be present for the birth of her baby. Supporting her through labor, then nourishing her postpartum with warm meals, felt deeply familiar — like I'd found the place where everything I'd been learning naturally belonged.

Today, I serve families throughout Denver and beyond through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Originally from Michigan, I still carry the slower rhythm of the Midwest with me in the way I cook, the way I care, and the pace I bring into the birth space.

When I'm not with families, you'll probably find me in my little garden oasis, playing on my volleyball league, exploring Colorado's mountains, dancing with friends, or at home with my partner and our two kitties.

I'm forever a student of this work, and deeply honored to walk alongside families as they welcome new life — and become new versions of themselves.

  • Fun Facts About Me

  • I grew up with a huge extended family (we're talking 40+ people packed in a house for the holidays), so I love a good social gathering and having LOTS of food around.

  • I learned to surf in Michigan and continue to plan my travels around surf trips! I also love to river surf in CO.

  • When I'm not with clients, I am working at a renewable energy laboratory. I help water power researchers share their work with the world as their comms representative.
